DOOM 64 will arrive on Steam on March 20 with DOOM Eternal, the new game in the series. Original DOOM 64, developed by Midway Games, has been renewed by Nightdive Studios, which stands out with its success in first-person shooter games. Launched for Nintendo 64 as a sequel to Doom II in 1997, DOOM 64 is now back with new episodes. “Finally, the players will have the opportunity to open new episodes after completing the original story in Doomguy’s saga,” said James Haley, senior developer of DOOM 64, in an interview. No FPS limit on the new DOOM 64 Samuel Villarreal, the game engine developer of DOOM 64, has confirmed that the game can run at 120 FPS and even at 1000 FPS for those who support the hardware. Villarreal has also announced that in the new Doom 64, it has implemented a technique used by John Carmack in the original game. Players will fight against hordes of creatures and try to hunt the Demons’ Head to prevent Hell from invading the world in DOOM 64. As they try to survive over 30 action-packed levels, they’ll discover advanced weapons and secrets that will help defeat demons. Players who pre-order DOOM Eternal will be able to get the digital version of DOOM 64 for free.
