The new version of the archive application came with a lot of new features, improvements and bug fixes. The latest version of WinRAR, WinRAR 5.80, was released in December 2019. The maximum number of threads used by WinRAR has been increased from 32 to 64. The -mt command-line switch accepts values between 1 and 64 to reflect the change. The new “thread” entry in the settings has replaced the multi-thread parameter. Accepts values between 1 and CPU core count. When browsing archived content, packaged and unpackaged sizes are now displayed. RAR5 archive repair performance has been improved. If the archives take a long time to read, a progress bar and cancel button will be displayed. Some windows, archiving and extraction progress windows can now be resized.
