TechTudo published the review of the Huawei P30 Pro in July and found that the smartphone offers outstanding specifications, such as long battery life, photographic capability in different types of environments, including in low-light locations, and excellent performance. The available colors of the phone are: white, red, blue and black. STRENGTHS 1. Photographic capability The Huawei P30 Pro stands out for the quality of the photos. The images are recorded by the rear quad camera and the front camera, which has a 32 MP sensor. Leica’s technology includes a 40 MP SuperZoom camera, a 20 MP ultra wide camera and a ToF sensor for Portrait Mode. In addition, it promises good stability and 50x zoom. Portrait Mode and IA Mode are tools that improve the framing of images. When activated, Artificial Intelligence automatically recognizes when there are one or more people, and then apply the bokeh effect directly to the photos. The ISO of up to 409,600 allows a good color capture even in the dark, while the so-called AI HDR + allows for greater sharpness, through the automatic evaluation made by the tool, which evaluates frames and segments different parts of the photo to combine the best resources , balancing the different layers. The aperture (f / 1.6) makes the camera ideal for night shots, resulting in a smartphone that is capable of recording good images at any time. 2. Battery life The 4,200 mAh battery draws attention, as it promises to be long-lasting and features smart energy-saving technology. The 40 W charger allows the recharging to be done in a considerably quick time, since the manufacturer informs that it takes approximately one hour for the charge to be complete. The P30 Pro can be recharged with Huawei’s 15W wireless fast charger, without worrying about cables. To perform the charge by induction, just activate the option “Reverse wireless charging”, place the other smartphone on the back of the Huawei P30 Pro and wait for the power exchange. The novelty is also present in the Galaxy S10. 3. Performance The device’s spec sheet mentions Kirin 980 eight-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The specifications must make the device fluid and fast. In addition, the Chinese mobile phone tends to have an equally good experience in using social media apps and productivity. 4. Design The P30 Pro features a 6.47-inch OLED display with curved edges and a resolution of 2340 x 2080 pixels. The model also features a digital reader integrated with the display itself and resistance to water and dust, with IP68 certification. It is worth noting that the drop-shaped notch to accommodate the front camera is discreet and does not interfere with the size of the display. NEGATIVE POINTS 1. Memory card (NM Card support) Although it has ample internal memory, the launch of Huawei supports only the NM Card type, an alternative technology to microSD. The fact that the format has not become popular makes it difficult to find a memory card for the cell phone in Brazil and even abroad. 2. Complications between Huawei and the United States government The tariff disputes between the United States and China were also reflected in smartphones. Companies like Huawei have been banned from trading equipment and technology from US companies. In practice, the complication occurred when Google suspended the company’s license to Android and services like Gmail and Play Store. As far as is known, the commercial turmoil does not affect the P30 Pro, but there is no guarantee that Google programs and Android updates will continue to arrive in the future in the model. Huawei guarantees that consumers will continue to be served. 3. No input headphones The P30 Pro adhered to the aesthetics of fashion, removing the input for 3.5 mm plug or P2 and exchanging for the USB-C input. The novelty already exists in cell phone models such as Google Pixel 2, Galaxy S9 and Moto Z. 4. Sound quality Huawei chose to remove the speaker that normally sits in the upper front area to maintain the 6.4-inch screen. The sound is emitted by vibrations on the screen itself. However, the absence of a traditional stereo system makes video playback dependent on just one speaker. And, although the volume is high, there may be interference in the sound quality when compared to other devices.
