He published a photo next to his daughter, in black and white, with the caption “No word can explain happiness.” In an interview with Seventeen magazine in 2014, Ariana spoke briefly about her relationship with her father. At the time, she stated that they had lost contact a year earlier. “It’s private, it took me a long time to be okay with that. What led me to this was embracing the fact that I am half of my father and many of my features come from him. Much of me comes from my father, and for a long time I didn’t like it.
