The artists have many areas where they can perform their own arts today. There are also many materials they can use. But it was not as easy for people to practice their arts centuries ago. That’s why people started painting on cave walls. These paintings, drawn by prehistoric people into the cave, became one of the most important prehistoric works of art in the world thousands of years after drawing. The skulls of extinct creatures such as mammoths and cave bears were found inside the Chauvet Cave. This cave, discovered by chance in 1994, was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 2014. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of the cave, the cave was closed to visitors. But visiting this cave is now possible thanks to Google. Thanks to the Art and Culture project of Google, you can visit the whole exhibition and have interesting experiences by using the virtual reality set. Google has partnered with the company “Syndicat Mixte de la Grotte Chauvet” to implement this project on devices that support AR and VR features and on the web. Two actresses Daisy Ridley and Cécile de France have voiced in English and French, including experts’ comments. If you have devices compatible with AR or VR technology, navigating the Chauvet virtual cave will give you a fun experience. But if you think my device is not suitable for this technology, Google has published this cave on the web. Introductory video of the cave with the oldest paintings in the world
