This is the minimum time Netflix uses to consider the number of people who have watched movies and series on the platform. The metric started to be used since the end of 2019, instead of considering those who watched 70% of some production. The Willoughby Brothers tells the story of Tim, Jane and their twin brothers, who want to replace their parents with less selfish people. For this, they decide to organize a trip, to start the search. During this journey, they learn what it really means to be part of a family. This familiar theme helps explain part of the animation’s success. With people spending more time at home, due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the film has a greater appeal for parents and children to watch together. Despite this, Netflix’s metric does not consider accounts that have watched the movie more than once. Currently the production has 90% approval from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and 67% from the public. With these notes, The Willoughby Brothers is the best rated animation of the year to date. Directed by Kris Pearn (It’s Raining Hamburger 2), the film is an adaptation of Lois Lowry’s novel The Willoughbys. Mark Stanleigh signs the script alongside Pearn, while Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Alessia Cara, Terry Crews, Seán Cullen and Ricky Gervais voice the main characters.
