Developed by former employees of Google and Microsoft, in partnership with experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), consultants and ambassadors from WHO, the WHO MyHealth app will have features and content similar to those made available in the recently launched chatbot for WhatsApp. One of the tools of the program will help the user to identify the symptoms of covid-19 and make a self-diagnosis, being able to report potential cases to the authorities. The user will also find tips on what to do if he is sick and a resource for notifications of alerts specific to his region. In addition, it will also be possible to record contact with infected people, a function that WHO intends to use to track the spread of the new coronavirus. But for that, the user needs to give permission to share their geolocation information with the app, creating a kind of interactive map, taking advantage of Google Maps technology. Where to download The new WHO application on covid-19 will be officially launched on March 30, according to 9to5Google. However, the date can still be changed, depending on app store approval procedures. The Android version can be downloaded on Google Play, while the iOS-compatible version will be available on the App Store. The WHO MyHealth app will support multiple languages, such as English, French and Spanish, among others. It is also planned to launch a version of the new WHO web app.
